NosÉ-Hoover Integrators at-a-glance: Barostat integration has a demonstrable effect on uniaxial tension results
Barostat integrator damping parameters are often omitted from many manuscripts. In this perspective paper, we display the relation of NPT and NVT integrators in LAMMPS under nonequilibrium conditions. Increasing the barostat damping parameter above 10,000 τ begins to impact uniaxial tension results.
Fine-scale surface complexity promotes temperature extremes but reduces the spatial extent of refugia on coastal rocks
The physical structure of microhabitats influences the availability and quality of refuge sites
from the intense solar radiation exposure experienced during heat waves. A combination of
elevated environmental temperatures, lack of shade, and low tides may often be fatal for sessile
organisms. In this paper we inspect the influence of fine-scale morphological influences on the
refugia quality in coastal, intertidal environments.
